SPW Insider: Tell us a bit about yourself Jordan.

Jordan: I’m Jordan, 30 years old, been living in the deep south for the best part of 12 years. I work in an office, so don’t get to be as active as I’d like. I also have a 5 year old son that loves wrestling.

SPW Insider:  What motivated you to train with the SPW Training Academy?

Jordan: I’ve been a fan of Professional Wrestling since I was about 9 years old, growing up watching the Monday Night Wars and the Attitude Era of WWE. When I saw the Induction Day advertised on Facebook, I jumped at the chance to give it a try.

I’d originally thought I’d only really be cut out for being a referee or commentator, but the drills and exercises we ran through on that Induction Day gave me a hell of a boost confidence wise, and I figured I’d give the performance part of training a go.

If the Academy had been an option when I was a lot younger (I’m 30 now), I’d have definitely signed up then too.

SPW Insider:  How have you found the training so far?

Jordan: It’s definitely been a challenge. But I’ve loved every minute of it. To be able to attempt what I’ve been watching for years has been a great experience.

I’ve found the training to be a matter of ‘a few moments to learn, and a lifetime to master’.  And it’s been ideal having a group of likeminded people to train with. There have definitely been the frustrations, bumps and bruises that go along with any kind of physical training, but there’s progress being made, when I started 4 months ago, I had no idea how to attempt anything that’s now just part of a warm up.

Everyone is really encouraging, the trainers and the guys I train with, and we’re all helping each other out with ideas and feedback.

SPW Insider:  What has been the most unexpected part of your training?

Jordan:  Honestly, it’s been just how much sense everything makes. The reasons behind why we do a particular move a certain way. I really thought that it would be super complicated to actually wrestle, probably because the wrestling I’ve watched over the years has always looked so good. But once something gets broken down and explained, it feels really straightforward. Wrestling is a hell of a lot of fun too.

SPW Insider:  How did your friends and family react when you told them you were training?

Jordan: I’ve been asked so many questions about it. My mates are genuinely interested to hear what its like. It definitely generates plenty of conversation when the subject comes up.

There’s always someone that wants to challenge it as being soft or fake, but then I always encourage them to give it a try, see that it really is a physical challenge, and can be tougher than it looks to do things properly.

SPW Insider:  Any advice for those that are interested in giving it a go?

Jordan: Just go for it! I started 4 months ago, aged 30 and haven’t looked back.

If you’ve ever been interested, and thought it would be a decent way to keep fit, learn some new skills and motivate you to try something different, then hit up the guys at SPW Training Academy for the next Induction Day.

It takes all shapes, sizes and skills to be a Pro Wrestler, it’d be damn boring if everyone looked the same, and the worst that could happen is that you have fun.

If you would like to follow in Jordans footsteps give us a shout and check out all the info you need by visiting the Training page on our website!

WRESTLEMANIA 32
DALLAS, TEXAS

With Wrestlemania happening this coming Monday, SPW Insider have come up with their own predictions below, what do you think will happen at the biggest show of the year, and arguably, WWE's biggest show in history?
Picture
WWE World Heavyweight Title Match
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

We've got Roman Reigns taking this one! We personally love Roman and can't think of anyone in a better position to be taking the title off The Game on Monday!

Maybe some involvement with The Rock?
Picture
No Holds Barred Street Fight
Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred Street Fight)

As much as we would like to see Ambrose take this one, we think he is going to come out looking stronger losing than winning!

He is going to take a beating from Brock and come out looking like a warrior. Our money is on Brock Lesnar!
Picture
Hell in a Cell Match
Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match)

Most anticipated match of the night? Definitely the showstealer!

We can see this turning into a crazy stunt show with Shane going back to 99!

As mental as we sound, we are going with Shane Mcmahon, with an absolute shocker of an ending! There has to be some involvement, maybe from a lot of outsiders...Balor Club? NXT? When you have absolutely no idea what is going to happen, it's magic!
Picture
Divas Title Triple Threat Match
Divas Champion Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks (Triple Threat Match)

We reckon these girls are going to want to try and steal the show on Monday.

Is this Sashas time? We don't think so, we are going with Charlotte to retain!
Picture
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara vs. The Miz vs. Stardust

Well, this could get dangerous, fast!

But there is no way Kevin Owens is dropping that title at his first KO Mania! Look for Sami Zayn to make a huge statement in this match!

Picture
Dream Match
AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

Dream match for many, and we are stoked for AJ to be getting his Wrestlemania moment!

Styles needs this win more than Jericho, the story has been beautifully told so far, and every good story should have a happy ending, right? We are going with Styles
Picture
Every Man For Himself
The 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

We are going to go completely out there on this one and guess a John Cena return and win! WHY NOT!
Picture
Battle for Tag Team Supremacy
The New Day vs. The League of Nations

If this was the for the titles we would go with League of Nations. New Day need a purpose and chasing the titles would give them that new direction...

But as this is more of a filler match to get all the guys on the card, we can't see New Day taking a loss.
